Housing Construction Directorate:

Established in 1962 (1341) with an initial capital of 262 million Afghanis, the Housing Construction Enterprise began operating on a 48-hectare area for the production of prefabricated building parts. Initially, it had a production capacity of 250 square meters of residential area annually, which increased to 610,000 square meters by 1977 (1356). At its peak, the enterprise employed 5,000 individuals.

The enterprise’s major achievements include the construction of the first, second, third, and fourth Makroryan apartments, totaling 10,500 residential units. Other notable projects include the construction of the Ministry of Public Works, the former Soviet Union embassy, and Wazir Akbar Khan road.

On 15/11/1398, Presidential Decree No. 28 integrated the enterprise into the National Development Corporation. It now handles all construction infrastructure projects related to the corporation, prioritizing national projects.
