Thursday 23rd, Jan, 2025 Maulvi Ahmad Jan Bilal, General Director of the Emirates Corporations, Abdul Rahman Attash, CEO of the National Development Corporation (NDC), and their accompanying delegation recently visited various sections of the Qosh Tepe Canal project.
During their official visit to the northern provinces of Afghanistan, they reviewed the progress of work on the dam, the second phase of excavation, and the construction of bridges along the canal’s route.
Maulvi Ahmad Jan Bilal emphasized the strategic importance of the Qosh Tepe Canal project, highlighting its significance for water management and the mechanization of Afghan agriculture. Mr. Bilal commended the efforts of the leadership of the National Development Corporation in this regard and acknowledged that the progress made on the ground exceeded expectations.
Abdul Rahman Attash, CEO of the National Development Corporation, expressed his gratitude to the General Director of the Emirates Corporations for personally visiting the project. In his remarks, Mr. Attash reassured the Afghan people that the work on the Qosh Tepe Canal is proceeding swiftly, with Afghan engineers ensuring that all international standards are being met.
It is noteworthy that the excavation of the second phase of the canal is 85% complete, while the construction of the headwall is 74% finished. Additionally, the construction of seven bridges along the canal’s route is progressing rapidly.
