4 Aug 2026: Abdul Rahman Attash, CEO of the National Development Corporation (NDC), accompanied by a technical delegation, visited Paktika province to closely inspect and evaluate the ongoing construction and developmental progress of the Paltoni Dam project.
During the visit, the CEO inspected various components of the dam and held discussions with project officials and site engineers regarding the progress, quality, and pace of the operations. Mr. Attash emphasized the high quality of work, adherence to technical standards, and execution of this major national project according to the scheduled timeline. He further issued the necessary instructions to the relevant teams to accelerate the pace of work.
Project officials and field engineers provided the CEO with comprehensive updates regarding ongoing activities, design implementation, and quality assurance, reassuring him that all operations are progressing in accordance with international engineering standards.
It is worth noting that the Paltoni Dam project plays a crucial role in water management, agricultural development, and environmental conservation in Paktika province. The dam has a storage capacity of 25 million cubic meters of water. Upon completion, it will irrigate 2,500 hectares of agricultural land and generate 1 megawatt of electricity.
